Florida Chamber rates area legislators - Jacksonville Business Journal:

Democratic Senator Tony Hill received a gradedof 63, down 37 points from his perfect score in 2008. Scores from both Republicaj Senators Jim King and Steve Wise improvecin 2009. King scored a perfecft 100, up from last year’s B and Wise inched up from an 81 last year to a gradesof 82. Scores for members of the Florida Housed of Representatives weregenerally lower, thougnh Republicans Jennifer Carroll and Lake Ray earnex perfect scores of 100. Republican Charles McBurneh scored a 95 while Democrat Audrey Gibson earnefda 56, down from last year’s 77. Democrat Mia Jonesw had the lowest score in the area of with a gradof 35.
Also earning perfecg scores were Republicans Janet Adkins ofFernandina Beach, Ronald "Doc" Renuart of Pontwe Vedra Beach, Bill Proctor of St. Augustined and Michael Weinstein ofOranged Park. Charles Van Zant of Palatka scorefa 93. The grade earned by a legislator is calculated by dividing the total number of times a legislator voted in supportr ofthe chamber’s positio by the total number of times a legislatort cast a vote on issues outlinefd in the agenda. Votes after roll call and missed votes are not factorerd intoa legislator’s while votes on certain issues are Grades can also be lowered if a legislator filess a bill attacking the business climate.
